Tadej Pogačar has impressively demonstrated his dominance at the Tour de France 2025. The Slovenian from the UAE Emirates - XRG team won the 10.9-kilometre mountain time trial on the 13th stage to Peyragudes in dominant fashion and extended his lead in the overall standings. Pogačar needed a time of 23:00.19 minutes for the route with an average gradient of 7.9 per cent. This was 36 seconds faster than second-placed Jonas Vingegaard from Team Visma | Lease a Bike. "I'm super happy," said Pogačar at the finish. "This time trial was already a big question mark for me in December. I wanted everything to be perfect, and the team delivered in the final moments to make sure everything was top notch."

The 26-year-old explained that he went full throttle from start to finish and tried to pedal as hard as possible. "I almost exploded at the end, but I saw the clock at the top and that gave me an extra push because I realised that I was going to win," said Pogačar.
Jonas Vingegaard showed a strong performance in second place, but was unable to jeopardise Pogačar. The Dane even overtook time trial world champion Remco Evenepoel from Team Soudal Quick-Step in the final metres. For the Belgian, the time trial ended in a debacle. He lost over two and a half minutes to Pogačar and dropped back in the overall standings.
The surprise of the day came from Primož Roglič from the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe team. The Slovenian finished in third place, 1:20 minutes behind Pogačar and 36 seconds faster than his team-mate Florian Lipowitz. Although Roglič made up some ground in the overall standings, he is still in seventh place, 8:50 minutes behind Pogačar. Lipowitz, on the other hand, closed the gap to third-placed Evenepoel to six seconds.
