On Thursday morning at 5.30 a.m., the hotel rooms and cars of the racing team were searched in the Bröndby district.
According to the Copenhagen police, this was due to a request from the French police. "We have no further information about the operation," said investigator Dannie Rise in the statement. The Team Bahrain-Victorious stated that it had cooperated fully with the authorities and that no items had been confiscated.
The homes of riders and team members had already been searched throughout Europe on Monday. The team itself announced this, but left open where the searches took place and which people were affected. Europol later announced that the raids had taken place in three countries.
During the last Tour de France, the hotel rooms of Bahrain-Victorious were searched in the Pyrenees. According to the riders, mobile phones were also confiscated. A result of the investigation is apparently still pending. So far, no official investigation has been initiated against any of the drivers, nor have any bans been imposed. Bahrain-Victorious won the team classification and three stages in the last Tour.
