The riders of Team Astana have to stretch themselves to avoid relegation from the World Tour
The 2025 season is all about the promotion and relegation battle in the World Tour. After the last race, it will be decided who has collected enough points over the past three years to be able to buy a World Tour licence for the next three seasons.

The first 18 in the ranking below have qualified. The Belgian team Lotto and the Israel-Premier Tech racing team, which were relegated at the end of 2022, are almost certainly back in the most important racing series. For the French team Arkea and the Kazakh racing team XDS Astana, it will be a tough battle to stay in cycling's premier league. Will the many transfers made by Astana team boss Alexandr Vinokourov be enough to save them? World Team status entitles the team to start in the most important races, including the Tour de France, and is coveted because it guarantees planning security for the next three years.
