Liane Lippert will continue to ride for the Movistar team in the coming years. The 27-year-old German has extended her contract with the Spanish team ahead of schedule until 2028. This means that Lippert will ride for the team led by Sebastián Unzué for a total of six seasons. The Friedrichshafen native joined Movistar in 2023 and has since developed into one of the team's top performers. In recent seasons, she has achieved important successes for the team, including stage wins at the Tour de France Femmes and the Giro d'Italia Women.

She also became German champion and won a stage of the Tour de Romandie and the Tre Valli Varesine classic. In the current 2025 season, Lippert has already finished third on the podium of the Tour of Flanders. She finished in the top 5 at the Walloon Arrow, results that emphasise her versatility in both one-day races and Grand Tours.

Liane Lippert sees Movistar as a "family"

"Extending my contract with Movistar Team feels very natural because it means staying at home. I've always felt very comfortable in this team - it's like a family," explains the 27-year-old. The German is satisfied with the way the team works and develops: "I'm really happy with the way we work and improve. That's why I'm more motivated than ever to stay here for the coming years."

Goals for the future

Lippert has set herself clear goals for the coming seasons. "My main goals for the next few seasons will be to help the team achieve victories and good results while continuing to enjoy racing," says the Friedrichshafen native. With the early contract extension until 2028, Movistar is sending a clear signal that it is building on the qualities of the German all-rounder in the long term. At 27, Lippert is already one of the established riders in the peloton, but still has many years at the highest level ahead of her.
