After Milan-San Remo Lorena Wiebes also won the Classic Bruges-De Panne 2025. The European champion from Team SD Worx - Protime came out on top after 152.7 kilometres ahead of Chiara Consonni (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto) and last year's winner Elisa Balsamo (Lidl - Trek).

There were also a few crashes in the women's race, but the really big chaos as with the men the day before did not materialise. Lidl - Trek took command in the final and positioned Elisa Balsamo perfectly. But the Italian had nothing to counter Wiebes' attack. The defending champion even had to let her compatriot Consonni pass her in the final metres.
For Wiebes, however, it is already win number six of the season. Most recently, the 26-year-old Dutchwoman won Milan-San Remo, followed by Le Samyn and three stages at the UAE Tour in February.
I had to start my sprint early. I gambled a bit. Overall, it was a hectic day. I'm very happy with my team-mates, how they got me to the finish line today - Lorena Wiebes
It took around 70 kilometres before the group of the day was able to break away. This consisted of two riders: Elena Pirrone (Roland) and Millie Couzens (Fenix-Deceuninck). The duo didn't get much of a lead from the peloton - not even a minute. As in the men's race, the wind, which has been the main selection criterion at Bruges-De Panne in recent years, also played a subordinate role in the women's race.
The breakaway attempt by Pirrone and Couzens ended 45 kilometres before the finish. Little happened in the race for around ten kilometres before Cat Ferguson (Movistar Team) dared to make a move. The 18-year-old Brit gained a maximum of around 30 seconds on the peloton. Under the leadership of Team SD Worx - Protime, the peloton chased. Ferguson was able to resist until two and a half kilometres before the finish, when her endeavour came to an end. Shortly before that, there was a crash in the centre of the peloton on a narrow road, which held up many riders and thinned out the leading group once again.
In the immediate sprint preparation, Lidl - Trek took the lead of the race. Clara Copponi delivered her team-mate Elisa Balsamo in a perfect position 150 metres before the finish. But Balsamo had no chance against the attack of Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx - Protime). Chiara Consonni (CANYON/SRAM zondacrypto) came back strongly, but was no longer able to jeopardise Wiebes.
