Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France 2025: Everything you need to know about the Breton classic

A total of six races will be organised during the "4 Jours Cic de Plouay 2025". In addition to the two elite races, there will also be competitions for para-athletes, young riders and amateurs. These include:

Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France: The men's World Tour race
The Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France will take place for the 89th time on 31 August 2025. The one-day race covers 261.7 kilometres and 4750 metres in altitude. The start and finish point is located on the Boulevard des Championnats du Monde in Plouay. As there are hardly any flat sections, the route is characterised by many classic short climbs. In particular, the climb to Rostervel, nine kilometres before the finish, and the climb to the Côte de Lezot, four kilometres before the finish, could be decisive for the race.
The Bretagne Classic 2025 is looking for the successor to Marc Hirschi, who won the race last year. The Swiss rider from the Tudor Pro Cycling Team, who won last year in the UAE jersey, is also taking part this year. The race starts on Sunday 31 August at 10:45 and the riders are expected to arrive at around 17:20.
The women's race Classic Lorient Agglomeration - Ceratizit
The Classic Lorient Agglomeration - Ceratizit women's race will be held on 30 August, the day before the men's race. This one-day race has been part of the UCI Women's World Tour since 2022. In the 2025 edition, the riders will cover 165 kilometres and climb 2500 metres in altitude. Both the start and finish are in Plouay. The route is similar to that of the men's race, with many challenging climbs. Riders with classic qualities have the best chances here.
Mischa Bredewold (Team SD Worx - Protime) won the Classic Lorient Agglomeration - Ceratizit again last year, as she did in 2023. The Dutchwoman will be competing again this year and is one of the favourites. The race will start at 11:50 on Saturday 30 August and the riders are expected to finish at around 16:30.
TV broadcast & live stream of Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France
The women's and men's races will not be broadcast live on TV. Both the Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France and the women's Classic Lorient Agglomeration - Ceratizit will be broadcast on the paid streaming service Discovery Plus. The men's race can be followed live there on Sunday, 31 August, from 15:15 to 17:20. The women's race will be broadcast live on Saturday 30 August from 15:00 to 17:00.
More races at "4 Jours Cic de Ploulay 2025"
Since 2021, the Grand Prix de Plouay de Paracycling. There are different race formats for para-athletes and different distances for women and men. There are solo and tandem bike races, as well as competitions for handbike riders. There will be a total of four different races on Thursday 28 August. The day is fully dedicated to paracycling.
On Friday, 29 August, the Grand Prix de Plouay Juniors Men on. It is a race for young male cyclists in the U19 category. The talented cyclists tackle 140.4 kilometres and 2050 metres in altitude. It will be held from 14:45 to around 18:15. The defending champion is Aurélien Kayser, who has been riding for the WorldTour team Groupama - FDJ since this month. The amateur races with various distances will take place beforehand.
The Saturday of the "4 Jours Cic de Ploulay" is dedicated to women's cycling. In addition to the elite women's race Classic Lorient Agglomeration - Ceratizit, there will also be an U19 race for talented female cyclists: the Grand Prix Ceratizit Juniors Women. The race is held parallel to the women's elite race, but starts half an hour after it. The juniors have to conquer a total of 100.8 kilometres and 1536 metres in altitude. Last year's winner was Auke De Buysser from Belgium, who rides for the NXTG Racing U19 Development Team.
The Grand Prix Plouay Elite Men is the biggest amateur race in Brittany. Young professionals now also compete in this race - including riders from Pro Tour teams or Continental teams, i.e. riders from the second and third leagues of cycling. The race was held for the first time in 2002, and all the winners, without exception, have gone on to become professionals. This race provides a stage for ambitious amateur riders to make the leap into professional cycling. The riders have to conquer 187.2 kilometres and 2736 metres in altitude in the 2025 edition. The 2025 Grand Prix Plouay Elite Men is looking for the successor to Pierre Thierry, who has been under contract with Arkéa-B&B Hotels since the middle of the 2024 season and already won in 2023.
