The peloton has taken three of the five monuments: After Paris-Roubaix, Tour of Flanders and Milan-San Remo may not be a monument, but an extremely prestigious classic awaits on Sunday: the Amstel Gold Race 2025. Liège-Bastogne-Liège (27 April), the fourth monument of the year, the first big endurance test in the Ardennes Classics is on the programme. The small, narrow roads in the Netherlands, with their short and tough climbs, have their very own character and often offer thrilling cycling. The Amstel Gold Race is very popular with fans along the route and at home on the TV screens. For all cycling fans who can't watch the race on TV or live stream on Sunday, we have our Amstel Gold Race live ticker at the start. We will report there on Sunday from approx. 15:00 from the hot phase of the Men's race in live ticker format. Of course, you can also find everything you need to know about the race here.

The pros at the Amstel Gold Race 2025 can expect 255.9 kilometres for the men with 34 short climbs. The women will tackle 157.3 kilometres with 21 hills. The Cauberg, where the race was often decided in the past, is particularly well-known. This year, after a few years of absence, it is once again the centrepiece of the men's final. And the Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition will also cross the Cauberg again shortly before the finish.

These are the favourites

The classics season has delivered thrilling cycling so far. Two riders in particular have been responsible for this: Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates - XRG) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin - Deceuninck). The latter will not be taking part in the Amstel Gold Race 2025, but Pogačar. The Slovenian meets in the Netherlands Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step). The Belgian returns to his training accident is back in the peloton and wants to shine in the Ardennes Classics. He is joined by Thomas Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team), the defending champion of the Amstel Gold Race, who is in very good form this season after his transition. The best chances from a German perspective are probably Maximilian Schachmann (Soudal Quick-Step) have. The Berlin recently finished third in the Tour of the Basque Country, probably the most important endurance test for the Ardennes classics. With Wout van Aert (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), another of cycling's greats has also announced his participation in the Amstel Gold Race. The Belgian has recently shown improving form, just like Ben Healy (EF Education - EasyPost). The Irishman won a stage in the Tour of the Basque Country. There was also Thibau Nys (Lidl - Trek). The young Belgian previously won the GP Miguel Indurain in impressive style. He is just as much a favourite as Maxim van Gils (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe), Marc Hirschi (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), Axel Laurance (INEOS Grenadiers), Romain Grégoire (Groupama - FDJ) , Michael Matthews (Team Jayco AlUla), Pello Bilbao (Bahrain - Victorious), Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl - Trek), Toms Skujiņš (Lidl - Trek), Alex Aranburu (Cofidis) and Neilson Powless (EF Education - EasyPost).

The Belgian Kopecky has in Anna van der Breggen and last year's runner-up Lorena Wiebes She has two more riders at her side who could also win. Good chances from a German perspective Liane Lippert (Movistar Team). The 27-year-old recently put in a very strong performance at the Tour of Flanders. We are also looking forward to the performance of last year's winner Marianne Vos and her team colleague Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (both Team Visma | Lease a Bike).
