Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills 2026: Four routes for gravel bikes

The Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills gravel event in the Italian Prosecco Hills is returning in 2026. The event will take place on 25 and 26 April in Borgoluce near Susegana in the province of Treviso. In just a few years, Nova Eroica has established itself as one of the signature gravel events in Italy. The event focusses on flexibility: riders can ride the routes fast or relaxed.

Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills with four routes

The organisers offer four routes. The short Via dei Castelli route covers 55 km and 910 metres in altitude through medieval castles, vineyards and small villages. This route does not include any timed sections.

The middle route delle Vigne Eroiche measures 94 km with an altitude difference of 1560 metres. It includes four timed segments. The long route along the Via dei Laghi stretches over 119 km and 2140 metres in altitude, also with four timed sections.

The Epic Route exceeds 200 kilometres and is aimed at riders looking for a long-distance challenge. Italian gravel rider Mattia De Marchi was involved in the development of this route and other key sections. His experience from races and exploratory rides was incorporated into the route planning.

Terrain and route conditions

The Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene offer a dense network of white gravel roads ("strade bianche") and quiet side roads. Short, steep climbs alternate with constant changes of rhythm. The landscape has been shaped over centuries by human cultivation. The terrain is technically demanding.

Nova Eroica Prosecco Hills supporting programme

The event site in Borgoluce offers more than just driving routes. The programme includes lectures, tastings of local food and wine as well as cultural activities. The event is complemented by offers for families. The figures show the international reach: over 30 per cent of Nova Eroica participants come from abroad.

Two events in one region

The region is home to two different gravel formats. The Hills Gravel Race at the end of March focussed on competition. Nova Eroica followed a few weeks later with a more open, social character. Both events show the versatility of the Prosecco hills, where racing and exploratory rides coexist.
