The Dane has signed a new employment contract that is valid until the end of 2026. This was announced by Lidl-Trek on Monday. Skjelmose initially joined the US team as a stagiaire in mid-2020 and has been on board permanently since 2021.
The Dane has set himself big goals for the end of 2026: "I would like to have stood on a Grand Tour podium the next time we hopefully talk about extending my contract - hopefully with the same team," the 23-year-old explained in his team's press release.
"That's the dream scenario, but I still have many other goals, and as long as I continue to develop, I'm also very happy. Everything happens so quickly in this sport, and if you stop, you have a problem," the reigning Danish road champion continues.
