The Ritchey Swiss Cross is a classic in the cross-country scene. The brand is reissuing the model to mark its 25th anniversary.

Slim steel tubes, external gear cables, minimalist retro design: with the new Swiss Cross, American bike pioneer Tom Ritchey remains true to his design style - and sets himself apart from modern racing bikes.

The Swiss Cross is primarily aimed at sporty riders with its somewhat "more aggressive" frame geometry according to the manufacturer. Equipped with flat-mount mounts for the disc brakes, the steel crosser offers a wide range of tyre widths: the carbon fork and rear triangle allow tyres up to 40 millimetres wide.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Swiss Cross, Ritchey is launching 100 framesets in a special red and white colour scheme. The special highlight of the limited edition bikes: a red cowbell dangles from the handlebars as a tribute to the Swiss racing cyclist Thomas Frischknecht, who won numerous cross-country victories on the Swiss Cross in the 1990s and was runner-up in the world championships in 1997!
