Alongside the aero high-flyer Madone and the comfort wonder Domane, the Émonda, Trek's third high-end model, looks almost unspectacular with its conventional tube shapes.

Nevertheless, the bike offers an impressive best value. According to TOUR measurement criteria, it is currently the lightest frameset on the market. In the Test 3/2015 the Émonda came to a set weight of just under one kilo including the headset (the weight of the integrated seat post has been deducted) thanks to the ultra-light special paint. The frame is not quite that light this time due to the light blue paint. Nevertheless, the competition has no chance on the scales. However, the diet striving comes at the expense of the stiffness values, especially in the bottom bracket, where the value is far below average. However, light riders and climbing enthusiasts should be able to get over this.

CONCLUSION Extremely light, not very stiff frame, high comfort on the saddle, outstanding equipment. Very expensive
