Swiss Side recall
DT Swiss recalled wheels just a few days ago - now there is also a recall from Swiss Side. The Swiss aerodynamics specialist has issued a warning for certain HADRON wheel models. Affected are carbon road bike wheels from specific product batches sold after 1 August 2024.

Topics in this article

The Swiss wheel manufacturer Swiss Side has announced a safety recall for several of its HADRON carbon wheel models. The measure only affects wheels that were sold after 1 August 2024 and whose DT Swiss serial numbers are higher than 2740000. According to Swiss Side, no product defects have yet been reported for the affected HADRON wheels. Nevertheless, the company decided to take this step after its manufacturing partner DT Swiss identified manufacturing concerns during quality checks that were similar to those previously reported in its own wheels. ERC/CRC/HEC modelsn were detected. The recall is therefore being carried out as a precautionary measure and for the safety of customers. In individual cases, delamination may occur in the rim flange area of wheels manufactured by DT Swiss. The recall will be handled by DT Swiss.

Which Swiss Side wheel models could be affected:

  • HADRON2 All road 450
  • HADRON2 All road Ultimate 450
  • HADRON2 Classic 500
  • HADRON2 Ultimate 500
  • HADRON3 Classic 550
  • HADRON3 Classic 650

Only wheels sold after 1 August 2024 and whose DT Swiss serial number is higher than 2740000 are potentially affected.

Recall identification and measures

Owners of the potentially affected wheels are asked to stop using them immediately and to check the serial numbers of both the front and rear wheels. The serial numbers can be verified on the dedicated DT Swiss website at https://www.dtswiss.com/recall. The website also describes how to find the serial numbers on the wheels.

If the wheels are not affected by the recall, no further action is required. For affected wheels, customers must follow the process described on the DT Swiss website. Further communication and processing will then be handled directly by DT Swiss.
