This much in advance: Canyon has not fundamentally revised the chassis of the polarising double handlebar bike, and everything remains the same for the aluminium version with classic handlebars. However, the equipment options have been expanded: The single-speed version of Shimano's GRX gravel groupset will mark the entry level in future.
Equipped with a 40 chainring and 11-42 cassette, this setup should still have a solid gear range that doesn't fall short even on demanding off-road climbs. However, the jumps between gears are large on the 11-speed GRX.
A finely graduated transmission for gravel adventures is now available with the Force eTap AXS Wide. The 2x version of the electronic groupset from US company Sram complements Canyon's portfolio on all Grail CF SL and CF SLX models, which were previously only equipped with the single-speed version. The 46/33 front and 10-36 rear ratios are designed to strike a balance between a wide gear range and a narrow gradation for road use. Also new: the Fizik Argo saddle with a shorter nose for maximum comfort even on longer rides.
From Tuesday, 25 August, Canyon will be launching 13 newly equipped models between € 1,499 and € 4,899, starting with the Grail 6 and going up to the Grail CF SLX 8 eTap and with a total of four women's bikes from the WMN model range.
