Giant Revolt Advanced 2
The Giant Revolt Advanced 2 proved in our extensive test that it is one of the most complete gravel bikes and therefore deserves our recommendation as an all-rounder. It may not be particularly exciting, but it is optimally equipped.

Topics in this article

The new compact frame of the Giant Revolt is lighter and sportier than its predecessor. Thanks to the longer geometry, the slightly steeper fork and the lower bottom bracket, the bike offers more agile handling and enables more efficient pedalling. The Giant Revolt is almost perfectly balanced in terms of riding position and biomechanically optimised pedalling, similar to the 3T Exploro Primo or perhaps the Merida Silex 700. Another plus point of the Revolt is its high level of comfort. Thanks to the specially designed rear stays and handlebars with "D-Fuse" technology, the bike absorbs bumps in the road without any significant loss of stiffness in the bottom bracket and head tube.

Giant Revolt Advanced 2: Good comfort, high payload

The Giant offers a high level of comfort in all grip positions. The slight backswing of the handlebars and more or less no flare allow three different postures, from relaxed to sporty. The bike is equipped with the state-of-the-art 2x12 GRX-820 groupset, which offers a wide range of gears, including a gear reduction. In addition to all these advantages, the Revolt Advanced 2 is also the second lightest bike with the largest possible payload. A true all-rounder!

A system weight of up to 150 kilos is really impressive for touring bikes, as it offers the option of securely attaching pannier racks and other attachments to the existing threads. Only the coarse Maxxis tyres seem a little unbalanced and make the lightweight bike a little dull on firm roads. The fact that the fork comes with a ten-year guarantee and the frame with a lifetime guarantee shows great confidence in the quality of the product.

How do you like this article?
Not the most exciting, but the most complete gravel bike? In a combination of measured values and subjective riding impressions, thanks to its slim and stable frameset, high-quality, well-fitting components and perfectly balanced geometry, it is at least hot on the heels of the Backroad.
