The Enve MOG is sold as a chassis set. In addition to the frame, stem and headset, a stem, handlebars and seatpost are selected to suit your own riding style. The chassis is then complete and still needs to be finalised with other suitable components. Last year Enve presented the Melee, a customisable racing bike. Here too, the bike is built on a canvas, the so-called chassis, according to individual requirements. Enve does not offer complete bikes.
As is typical for gravel bikes, the MOG is also versatile. Depending on the tyre width - up to 50 millimetres fit in the rear triangle and fork - and profile, it is at home on gravel, trails and asphalt. Enve specifies the ideal tyre width as 40 to 44 millimetres. You won't find any externally routed cables. The cables run through the handlebars, stem and frame, giving the bike a clean look. Difficult maintenance included. The routed cables are fixed inside the frame so that nothing rattles.
The fact that the Enve gravel bike is also designed for longer adventures is demonstrated not least by the option of mounting three water bottles: Two in the frame triangle, one under the down tube. In the down tube, similar to the Specialised Diverge A compartment is concealed in the centre of the bag for stowing tools, a jacket, snacks or a first aid bag. The contents remain organised thanks to two neoprene pockets.
Of course, this compartment is not nearly enough for extended bikepacking tours - nor should it be. With a set classic bikepacking bag consisting of saddle bag, handlebar bag and frame bag the bike is ready for the next tour. As the fork also has screw-on points, additional items of luggage or bottles can be stored here - such as Ortlieb fork packs.
The frame of the Enve MOG is available in six sizes (49 to 60 centimetres frame height), whereby the fork travel is size-dependent and thus supports handling in every frame size. When manufacturing the frame, Enve uses a special carbon design to make crucial junctions such as the bottom bracket and head tube particularly rigid.
In addition to the frame, headset and fork, the basic frame of the Enve MOG also includes handlebars, a stem and a seatpost. Enve has various options to choose from here. So you can choose according to your preference and riding style.
Handlebars:
Stem:
A stem with a negative angle is fitted for an aerodynamic riding position. If you want to sit more upright, choose a positive angle.
Seat post:
Seatposts with a diameter of 27.2 millimetres fit into the Enve MOG. The manufacturer has a dropper post specially designed for gravel riding in its range. This allows the saddle to be lowered by 40 millimetres. A classic seat post without a dropper function is also possible.
The Enve gravel bike set, consisting of frame, fork, headset, handlebars, stem and seat post, costs a proud 5995 euros over the sales counter. Wheels, groupset, flat-mount disc brakes, tyres, handlebar tape, saddle, ... are not yet included. The set for customising an Enve gravel bike will be available from mid-March 2023.
