MyWhoosh and Favero Electronics are entering into a technical and communications partnership. The aim is to improve the accuracy, consistency and verifiability of performance data at MyWhoosh Sunday Race Club events.
From 4 October 2026 Category 1 riders and selected Category 2 participants are to transmit their power to MyWhoosh using Favero Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2 pedals as their primary power source. The power measured via the pedals then directly controls the avatar’s speed in the game and serves as the official basis for the race results.
Until now, in many set-ups, smart trainers have provided the primary power data, whilst an additional power metre has mainly been used for monitoring purposes. This relationship is now being reversed: the smart trainer remains responsible for simulating resistance and gradients, but its power readings no longer determine the riders’ rankings.
Instead, power output is measured directly via the Favero pedals, recorded in the MyWhoosh race systems and used for subsequent verification. This is intended to make the data source more transparent for organisers and monitoring teams.
“This is an important next step in strengthening the standards underpinning professional cycling esports,” says Matt Smithson, Director of Esports & Game Operations at MyWhoosh.
Favero states that the Assioma PRO pedals are a particularly precise solution for performance-oriented cyclists. The manufacturer specifies a measurement accuracy of ±1 per cent. The IAV Power System takes into account fluctuations in angular velocity during each crank revolution. This is said to enable consistent power measurement, particularly at high cadences, during sprints and under varying loads – conditions that are common in virtual racing.
Two models capable of measuring on both sides are permitted for the Sunday Race Club:

The pedals transmit data via ANT+ and Bluetooth and, in addition to power and cadence, measure, amongst other things, left-right balance, pedal smoothness and torque effectiveness.
In October, MyWhoosh and Favero plan to test the new connection under real racing conditions. The aim is to assess how the performance data can be integrated into the internal systems for reporting and verification. The focus will also be on identifying any potential issues with the firmware, connection or configuration. MyWhoosh’s existing control mechanisms are to continue to operate unchanged during this phase.
“Assioma PRO has been developed to provide precise, consistent and reliable performance data under real-world riding conditions,” explains Erika Martinazzo, Head of Marketing at Favero Electronics. The direct collaboration with MyWhoosh is intended to meet the specific technical requirements of high-level virtual races.
According to MyWhoosh, the next step is expected to take place between late October and early November 2026: the special MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode for the Favero Assioma PRO is due to be launched then.
The feature is activated via a firmware update and an update to the Favero Assioma app. When the mode is switched on, the pedals transmit additional information to MyWhoosh, including the set crank length and the power scale factor. According to the partners, this creates a more comprehensible data set for race monitoring.
Outside the MyWhoosh Sunday Race Club, the transmission of this additional data remains optional. However, riders concerned must activate this mode in order to remain eligible for prize money.

MyWhoosh also recommends that all other participants use the Assioma PRO pedals, but does not require them to do so.
Drivers without a compliant pedal system may still take part. However, from the cut-off date onwards, they will only be eligible to receive prize money if they use the prescribed hardware. Once eSports Race Mode has started, the firmware and app must also be updated and the new feature activated.
With this change, MyWhoosh is adopting a more uniform standard for key performance data. Whether the system proves its worth in day-to-day racing and how many riders switch to the comparatively expensive pedals should become apparent as early as the test phase in October.
