With the previous X-Strada, which was still largely based on a racing bike frame, KTM launched an experiment. Would the gravel bike be well received on the market? After an overwhelming response during lockdown and the constantly growing gravel trend, the developers are now presenting the first independently developed gravel frame for the new X-Strada.
Key points: Plenty of tyre clearance, low weight, modern geometry and the option of attaching luggage. The latter is available on the new fork, which is equipped with mounting points for a lowrider luggage rack. The new carbon frame is compatible with double cranks and weighs 980 grams in the smallest frame size. Tyres up to a width of 48 millimetres are possible. The geometry should predestine the X-Strada as an uncomplicated everyday bike as well as a comfortable long-distance graveler.
There will be 10 models in total. From the cheapest aluminium bike for 1299 euros, through versions for city and everyday use with straight handlebars and with pannier racks and mudguards as a randonneur, to the 4099 euro top model, which is equipped with the new Rockshox Rudy suspension fork is designed for maximum comfort and off-road use. The lightest model in the gravel bike series weighs from 8.9 kilograms.
