The Rhön Cycle Marathon in Bimbach has established itself as a firm fixture in the cycling calendar. In 2025, thousands of cyclists will once again flock to the tranquil village on the edge of the Rhön on Whitsun weekend. The event offers a mixture of challenging marathon routes for ambitious cyclists and shorter routes for families and leisure cyclists. The marathon routes have long been fully booked - but there are still places available for the shorter RTF routes.
As a novelty, the organiser is presenting two routes designed for Gavelbikes in 2025. The shorter route covers 49 kilometres and has an elevation gain of around 900 metres. The longer version stretches over 81 kilometres with around 1600 metres of elevation gain. Both routes run along varied country lanes and paths on the edge of the Rhön and through the Schlitzerland. According to Scheiber, the new gravel routes offer both sporting challenges and impressive nature experiences. The routes are also suitable for mountain bikes.
