After Tuscany, the Prosecco Hills, the Gran Sasso, Istria and Ivrea, the gravel event in the Nova Eroica series visits the Swiss Alps for the first time. The event combines timed sections with a community spirit and is aimed at sporty gravel riders as well as participants who appreciate the landscape and culture. The short route runs through the valley with views of the lake, rural landscapes and historic architecture. The medium and long routes run along gravel roads with climbs through coniferous forests surrounded by peaks and glaciers. All routes cross organically farmed areas and offer views of the Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway with the Brusio circular viaduct.
This is accompanied by Gavelbike-The event is already being organised the day before with supporting events. There will be an opening aperitif on Friday evening and a dinner with local products from the "100% Valposchiavo" label on Saturday. On Sunday morning, 14 June, the programme includes a guided tour of the Raselli farm's organic herb cultivation, a boat trip on Lake Poschiavo with aperitif and a bicycle scavenger hunt for families. Starting places for all distances currently cost CHF 90 (approx. 100 euros). The long route offers around 3,000 metres of elevation gain over 120 kilometres and leads over the UNESCO Viaduct. The medium route still has an impressive 2000 metres of altitude difference spread over 80 kilometres and the shortest route offers around 900 metres of altitude difference over 50 kilometres.
