1400 cyclists will take on the course around Lake Attersee on 17 September 2022 in Europe's biggest time trial. The live broadcast of the ASVÖ King of the Lake can be viewed here.

A 47.2 kilometre car-free ride around the picturesque Attersee is every time trialist's dream. The starting signal for the 12th edition of the unique ASVÖ King of the Lake time trial in Kammer/Schörfling will be given on 17 September at 1 pm sharp. Up to 1400 fast men and women from 24 nations will then race around the Austrian lake. The road is completely traffic-free - the closure applies to all vehicle traffic from 12.15 pm to 6.45 pm. The secured route and the start via a large start ramp create a racing atmosphere and give amateur athletes the feeling of racing under "professional conditions".

Europe's biggest cycling time trial around Lake Attersee can of course also be experienced live and up close as a spectator and fan. This is possible in one of the three fan zones around Lake Attersee, where the riders can be cheered on and pushed towards the finish line.

For all those who cannot be there, the race will once again be broadcast via livestream:

King of the Lake: Team time trial on Lake Attersee

The King of the Lake will start at 1.00 pm with the 10-rider team time trial powered by Upper Austria, where the first hot times around Lake Attersee will be set. A total of 19 teams will start in this category, the best seven team members will be categorised, i.e. seven riders must also reach the finish in Kammer/Schörfling.

Directly afterwards, 110 registered teams will compete for victory in the 4-man team time trial powered by Autohaus Eder & Volkswagen.

The fight for the crown of King of the Lake powered by Specialized will once again be particularly exciting. As the 'King' of 2020 and 2021, Tobias Häckl, will be competing in the elite class for the first time this year, there is likely to be a 'succession to the throne'. This could also include the multiple Race Across America winner Christoph Strasserwho came second last year, had a say in the victory.

Last year's winner Gabriela Thanner, the women's course record holder, will be at the start. The recent winner of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon and Tour Transalp winner Catherine Rossmann and last year's runner-up Barbara Mayer are also considered podium candidates.
