The tourism association Kufsteinerland is organising its tenth cycling marathon. Since its premiere, the event has become a fixed date in the racing calendar. Austria's developed. The cycle marathon offers timed cycle races - but the roads are not closed. Marshals will provide security and there will also be police motorbike escorts. It is currently possible to register for the cycle marathon for 57 euros.
Three different distances will be organised at the end of August in Kufstein offered. The longest route is challenging with 1800 metres of altitude over 120 kilometres. The route leads to Thiersee, into the Brandenberg Valley and back to Kufstein via Angerberg. The lake circuit covers 1160 metres in altitude over 95 kilometres with steep climbs in Hinterthiersee and between Breitenbach and Angerberg. Technically demanding descents require concentration. The panoramic circuit runs via Langkampfen and Mariastein to Breitenbach and back via Angerberg. Since 2025, this shortest variant can be ridden by e-bike in a separate classification. The separate start time for e-bikes ensures clearer conditions on the route.
The weekend from 21 to 23 August offers several events. The Aschinger Alm Gaudirace takes place on Friday. On Saturday, unicycling laps for women and men are on the programme. The Welcome Ride of the female cycling force starts on Saturday at 1:30 pm at Theaterplatz 1 near the Kultur Quartier. The co-operation with the Munich-based association female cycling force is a response to the growing proportion of women in road cycling. The organisation creates a community for female cyclists. The Welcome Ride will be followed by a workshop for all those interested.
