On 1 May, the Hobby race ADAC Velotour traditionally part of the cycling classic Eschborn-Frankfurt instead.

Three routes through the Taunus

Participants can choose between three distances. The Skyline covers 40 kilometres through Eschborn, Frankfurt and Oberursel. The Taunus Express covers 85 kilometres over the Großer Feldberg through the Hessian low mountain range. The longest route is the Taunus Classic with 97 kilometres, which includes the Feldberg and Mammolshainer Stich. The majority of the starters have opted for this longest distance.

Professional race Eschborn-Frankfurt

The professional cycle race Eschborn-Frankfurt will also take place on 1 May 2026 and traditionally marks the end of the spring classics. A total of 19 teams have confirmed their participation, including 16 UCI WorldTour teams and the three best-placed ProTeams from the previous season. According to current plans, the last three winners will return with their teams: defending champion Michael Matthews (Team Jayco AlUla), Maxim Van Gils (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, winner 2024) and Søren Kragh Andersen (Lidl-Trek, winner 2023). According to the pre-announcement, UAE Team Emirates is travelling as the strongest team in the peloton and wants to win again in Frankfurt after eight years. From a German perspective, John Degenkolb (Team Picnic PostNL) is particularly interesting as a former winner and crowd favourite. Other strong WorldTour teams such as Alpecin-Premier Tech, INEOS Grenadiers, Soudal Quick-Step and Team Visma | Lease a Bike complete the starting field. The three invited ProTeams Cofidis, Pinarello-Q36.5 and Tudor have earned the right to start thanks to their strong pre-season. Additional wildcards will be awarded in the coming weeks.
