If you enjoy riding at night - and not just in winter - and want to mount really good lights on your road or gravel bike, you will find suitable models from various manufacturers depending on your requirements and budget. We have compared six current models from 70 to 530 euros.

The two high-end headlights SL MiniMax AF from Lupine with rechargeable battery and the first dynamo headlight with pop-up light M99 DY Pro from Supernova have the best light profile. They cost 530 euros (with standard battery) and 325 euros excluding dynamo wheel. Of the four economy headlights tested, the Sigma Aura 100 is the cheapest with a price of 70 euros. The Cateye costs 149 euros, the Lezyne 149 euros and the Trelock 145 euros.

The Lezyne impresses with the best light profile and the longest battery life among the low-cost headlights. It is also the only headlight in this category with a high-quality aluminium housing that dissipates heat very well.
