With the Pinarello Grevil F gravel bike The Italians have added an off-road counterpart to their successful Dogma F road bike to their range. The Grevil F offers a slightly more comfortable riding position, but, like the well-known professional road bike, features aerodynamic tube shapes and integrated cable routing, which is designed to make it easier to fit panniers.
The Grevil F9 will be available in Lunar Bloom from now on, and the F7 in Moab Amber. Lapland Sky will be added to the F5 range, Patagonia Frost to the F3 range, and Altai Dust to the F1 range.
Pinarello now offers a total of eight colour options within the range. Alongside the five new additions, Polaris Purple for the F7, Namib Brown Matt for the F5 and Etna Black for the F3 remain in the range. The eight options are therefore spread across five models. Not every colour is available for every Grevil F model.
Pinarello positions the Grevil-F series for longer gravel races and solo rides. The Dogma GR, which is also available, is, by contrast, more suited to races lasting under five hours, according to the manufacturer. This distinction describes the intended use, not the result of a comparative test.
One of the features of the Grevil F is a down tube with a flattened profile. It is designed to provide space for a frame bag and a water bottle holding up to 750 millilitres. A tool bag can also be fitted inside the frame via an opening in the down tube. The cables are internally routed, ensuring a clean-cut front end.
For 700c wheels, Pinarello specifies tyre widths ranging from 25 millimetres for road use up to 50 millimetres for off-road use. Which tyres actually fit also depends on their actual width and the clearance required when riding through mud.
The so-called Race Geometry+ is designed for rides lasting more than five hours. According to Pinarello, the top tube is one centimetre longer than on the previous model; this is complemented by a shorter stem. This is intended to improve control off-road.
A seatpost with, according to the manufacturer, ten millimetres of longitudinal flex, together with the seat stays, is designed to dampen vibrations. The revised Onda fork is designed with 50 or 55 millimetres of offset, depending on the frame size. Whether and to what extent these measures affect ride comfort and traction cannot be assessed from the product announcement alone. This press release does not specify prices or release dates for the new colour variants.
