2020

In 2020, he scored a major coup shortly before his 22nd birthday. Pogacar became the youngest rider since Henri Cornet in 1904 (19 years old at the time) to win the Tour de France. On the 20th stage, he snatched the yellow jersey from Primoz Roglic in a mountain time trial in the final metres. He also became Slovenian champion in the individual time trial and won the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana.

In 2021, Pogacar once again excelled in tours: the young star was able to repeat his Tour de France victory. He clearly dominated the race and won by over five minutes ahead of Jonas Vingegaard. He also took overall victory at the UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and the domestic Tour of Slovenia. This year, Pogacar also developed into a classics specialist: He won two cycling monuments, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Tour of Lombardy.

2022

Although the Slovenian won three tours - the UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour of Slovenia - he only managed second place in the Tour de France. Despite three stage wins, he was beaten by Jonas Vingegaard. At the end of the year, he also won the two classics Grand Prix Cycliste de Montreal and the Tour of Lombardy again.

2023

After Pogacar proved his ability on the cobbles with fifth place in the 2022 Tour of Flanders, he set himself the major goal of winning the 2023 Ronde for his spring campaign - with success. Pogacar outsprinted the top favourites Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert and celebrated a solo victory. Victories at the Ruta del Sol, Paris-Nice, the Amstel Gold Race and Fleche-Wallonne rounded off his extremely successful spring 2023. However, Pogacar crashed at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and broke his navicular bone. He only celebrated his comeback at the Slovenian Championships at the end of June, before starting at the Tour de France. There he clearly lost out in the showdown with Jonas Vingegaard. On the other hand, he won the Tour of Lombardy for the third time in a row.

Following his Tour de France victory in 2021, Tadej Pogacar signed a record contract and committed to UAE Team Emirates for a further six years. Never before had a rider signed a six-year contract extension.
