Modern MTBs often do without additional threaded mounts on the frame for reasons of weight or design. On bikepacking tours, on particularly hot days or in remote areas, you often need more than two water bottles. This is where the Universal Cage Mount comes in: a simple system that makes use of existing frame structures rather than relying on fixed mounting points.
At its heart is a universal adapter plate with standard drill holes for bottle holders (hole spacing: 64 mm). This is not fixed with screws, but is secured by means of a wide, silicone-coated Velcro tape attached directly to the frame. The system combines two aspects:
This allows accessories to be positioned exactly where they are needed – regardless of the factory-fitted mounts.
It is secured using a single, adjustable Velcro strap. This can be adjusted to fit different tube diameters and can even be shortened if necessary. The system is suitable for frame tubes between 27.2 mm and 80 mm in diameter – a range that covers both traditional MTB frames and e-bike down tubes. An integrated, soft pad protects the paintwork whilst also providing extra grip.
Thanks to the standardised hole spacing, the Universal Cage Mount Compatible with most common systems. Typical applications:
This makes the system suitable not only for traditional trail rides, but also for bikepacking or commuting.
The Universal Cage Mount takes a simple yet practical approach: more mounting options without the need for modifications or specialised frame designs. The system can be a useful addition, particularly for modern bikes with limited mounting points. Its strength lies in its versatility. Quick to fit, flexible in positioning and compatible with existing accessories – this makes the adapter appealing to touring cyclists, commuters and trail bikers alike.
