Topics in this article

There was a major change for cycling fans at the end of 2023. With the end of the popular streaming app GCN+ some viewers have had to reorient themselves in order to continue watching cycling. The good news is that there will still be a huge range of cycling races on TV or live streaming in 2024.

Discovery Plus is the largest streaming provider in the cycling sector. The platform belongs to Warner Bros. Discovery, a company from the USA, which also owns Eurosport. The content of the former Eurosport Player has also been merged into Discovery Plus.

Discovery Plus costs

The Discovery Plus streaming service is available in several variants:

  • ad-free for 5.99 euros (monthly subscription) or 59.99 euros (annual subscription)
  • with advertising for 3.99 euros (monthly subscription) or 39.99 euros (annual subscription)

This also gives users access to live streams from Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 and other Warner Bros. Discovery channels, as well as all other content from the streaming service provider.

Tour de France 2024: ARD extends contract

In addition to Eurosport and Discovery Plus, cycling will also be shown on public television. The most important news for fans: ARD has once again secured the rights for the 2024 Tour de France secured. The package also includes the rights to the Tour de France Femmes. This means that cycling fans will continue to have the choice between Eurosport and ARD for the Tour.

The Deutschland Tour 2024, for which ARD and ZDF have secured the live and retransmission rights from race organiser A.S.O., will also be shown on free-to-air TV.
