French bike and component manufacturer Look is relaunching its Keo Blade pedals for this year's Tour de France. Ceramic bearings are intended to ensure less friction loss and longer durability at the same time. The manufacturer hopes that this will result in better power transmission.
Look already presented the regular edition of the Keo Blade Carbon Ceramic Ti TDF at Paris-Nice in spring - albeit with a standard chrome axle. Thanks to the titanium axle, the special edition weighs 15 grams less. That adds up to just 95 grams.
We tested the cheaper, chrome-plated version of the Blade series: To the individual test of the Keo Blade Cromo pedals.
A version of the Keo Blade Carbon Ceramic Ti without Tour de France branding is due to be launched towards the end of the year. Pedal pioneer Look launched the first clipless pedal in 1984, with which Bernard Hinault won the Tour de France the following year.
