Swiss Side Technologies AG, a company specialising in aerodynamic solutions for cycling, is expanding its product portfolio. Following the successful launch of triathlon equipment such as the AERO Tri Suit and AERO Calf Sleeves, the Swiss manufacturer is now launching a complete road cycling apparel collection. The new AERO Road Cycling Apparel line will be available worldwide from 29 August 2025 and includes jerseys, bib shorts and a one-piece. According to the company, all products have been developed according to the Swiss Side philosophy of "performance first" and optimised in wind tunnel tests. Jean-Paul Ballard, founder and CEO of Swiss Side, explains: "At Swiss Side, our mission has always been to bring aerodynamic performance to every aspect of cycling. Just as we did with wheels and cockpits and later with our triathlon clothing, entering the road bike market was the next logical step." The new collection is aimed at both competitive riders and performance-orientated cyclists who value the balance between aerodynamic performance, comfort and durability.

Product details of the new collection

The AERO Road Cycling Apparel line consists of three main products, each designed for specific requirements. The AERO Jersey Ultimate, available in men's and women's versions for 175 euros, features aerodynamically refined fabrics and moisture-wicking inserts for thermoregulation. Practical details such as three back pockets plus an additional zip pocket, laser-cut sleeves and silicone grippers are designed to increase comfort. The anatomical fit is specially moulded for the racing position on the bike. The AERO Bib Shorts Ultimate, also available in gender-specific versions, cost 195 euros and were developed for long hours in the saddle. They have minimal seams, anatomical AIR FLOW straps and laser-cut hems with silicone grip. At the core is a newly developed multi-density pad which, according to the manufacturer, is designed to provide support, stability and comfort in all riding positions.

The AERO Road Suit as a flagship product

As the flagship product of the new collection, Swiss Side presents the AERO Road Suit Ultimate for men at a price of 349 euros. This one-piece suit combines the features of the AERO Jersey and the Bib Shorts and is designed to offer optimum aerodynamics, breathability and comfort for competitions and high-intensity rides. The road suit is equipped with the same multi-density padding as the bib shorts and has practical storage space in the back area. The one-piece construction means fewer seams and transitions, which can be advantageous from an aerodynamic point of view. The entire product line is sold via the company website www.swissside.com and through Swiss Side's retail partners. According to the company, all products have been developed with rigorous wind tunnel testing and feedback from athletes to fulfil Swiss Side's promise to offer customers top performance, function and quality at a fair price.

Company background and expertise

Swiss Side has established itself as an innovation leader for aerodynamic solutions in the cycling and sports industry. Based in Thalwil, Switzerland, the company has extensive expertise and its own research and development infrastructure. Until now, Swiss Side has mainly focussed on wheels, cockpits and triathlon clothing. By expanding its range to include road cycling clothing, the company is now taking a step further in the direction of complete equipment for performance-orientated cyclists. The aerodynamic expertise that Swiss Side has gained in the development of wheels and other components is now also being incorporated into the clothing line. The company also supports athletes and teams in maximising their performance. The new clothing line is therefore a logical extension of the portfolio and utilises the existing expertise in a new product segment.

Market positioning and future prospects

With the launch of the AERO Road Cycling Apparel line, Swiss Side is positioning itself in a highly competitive market for high-quality cycling apparel. The company is building on its established reputation in the field of aerodynamics and scientifically based product development. In contrast to many of its competitors, who focus primarily on design and brand image, Swiss Side emphasises the functional aspect and measurable performance improvement through aerodynamic optimisation. This positioning is in line with the growing trend towards data-based performance optimisation in cycling. Whether Swiss Side can assert itself against established clothing manufacturers will become clear after the market launch in August 2025. The company could open up further product categories in the future to complete its offering for cyclists. The combination of aerodynamic expertise and functional clothing could represent a unique selling point that sets Swiss Side apart from other manufacturers.
