The Scott Jacket M's RC Pro GTX WP was put through its paces in our comparison test. At a price of 300 euros, it is one of the most expensive models in the test. The jacket is only available in a men's cut, in the colours turquoise and black. We were curious to see how it would fare against the competition.

What the manufacturer says: The RC Pro jacket is made from waterproof Gore-Tex Paclite material that packs down extremely small. The 2-way YKK zip is designed to reliably keep water out while ensuring optimum ventilation and allowing easy access to the jersey pockets without having to take off the jacket. The jacket has a race-specific cut that guarantees maximum performance on the bike, while the high collar is designed to offer additional protection from wind and rain. Elasticated cuffs are designed to ensure a secure fit and prevent water from penetrating. According to the manufacturer, the RC Pro jacket thus combines first-class weather protection with functionality and comfort - ideal for ambitious cyclists who want to be optimally equipped in changeable conditions.

The Scott Jacket M's RC Pro GTX WP is lightweight, offers good weather protection, but the cut is not convincing

Test summary of the Scott Jacket M's RC Pro GTX WP

Conclusion: The material feels dry and robust, reminiscent of Gore Wearbut rustles noticeably when moving and in the wind. The cut is not convincing: even with slight arm movement, the back section slides upwards. The jacket is too loose at the front and too tight under the armpits, which impairs the fit in a racing position. The Scott offers good to very good weather protection with a tight fit and reliable beading behaviour. However, at a price of 300 euros, the features are modest. The collar is tightly cut and lets cold air through at speed, and the jacket flutters audibly at the shoulders if you have a narrow build. On the plus side, the model is lightweight and can be stowed away compactly.
