Gorewear is expanding its range of waterproof cycling clothing with the new Lupra 2.0 collection. The line builds on the previous Endure Gore-Tex range and is intended to further develop its concept. The focus is on a loose cut in combination with the three-layer Gore-Tex ePE material, which was designed for reliable weather protection.
The collection comprises a jacket, trousers and shorts and is aimed at cyclists who are out and about in changeable conditions. Gorewear uses 3D body mapping in the development process, which optimises the cut and strategically places the seams. In combination with the robust but lightweight ripstop material, this should ensure unrestricted freedom of movement when riding. As an additional feature, the parts are easy to pack.
The centrepiece of the Lupra 2.0 collection is the Gore-Tex jacket of the same name. It uses the latest generation of the PFC-free Gore-Tex ePE membrane, which, according to Gorewear, is windproof and waterproof, yet lighter and thinner than previous versions. It also has a reduced CO2 footprint. The three-layer material is designed to fulfil the manufacturer's "Guaranteed to keep you dry" promise and offer ultimate weather protection on any adventure. The cut of the jacket is designed to be both casual and functional. Pre-shaped elbow and shoulder areas are designed to improve mobility, regardless of whether you are out on the trail or in everyday life.
The Lupra 2.0 Gore-Tex jacket offers various options for customisation. There are Velcro fasteners on the cuffs, the hem has a drawstring and the front zip can be opened in two directions. The hood is wide enough to fit over a cycle helmet and can be adjusted using a drawstring on the inside. Gorewear has integrated reflective elements on the back and elbows for better visibility in poor light conditions. The jacket is available in different colours for both men and women and there is also a limited edition.
In addition to the jacket, the Lupra 2.0 collection also includes trousers and shorts for men. The Lupra Gore-Tex trousers also uses the new Gore-Tex ePE membrane and is designed to combine the best weather protection with great freedom of movement. Gorewear is positioning them as the ideal companion for changing conditions in the city, on the trail or when bikepacking.
The trousers are said to be lightweight, breathable, waterproof and packable. A bike-specific cut with comfortably pre-shaped knee and hip areas and adjustable lower leg width should ensure an optimum fit. The ripstop material used and reinforcements in the seat area are designed to offer robust weather protection.
The Lupra 2.0 Gore-Tex jacket has a number of technical features designed to increase comfort. There is a silicone band on the inside of the hood and the hood hem and neck area are reinforced. A soft lining in the neck is designed to provide additional comfort. There are two zip pockets on the front for storing small items. According to the manufacturer, the jacket can be quickly stowed away in its own pocket. According to Gorewear, recycled materials are used in production.
The Lupra Gore-Tex trousers are equipped with an elasticated gripper on the back waistband and have an inner mesh pocket at the front and a waistband with a drawstring. A side zip pocket also serves as a pack pocket. A zip and press studs on the lower leg allow the width to be adjusted. According to Gorewear, recycled materials are also used for the trousers and shorts. Reflective details on the upper and lower leg are designed to increase visibility.
