Sportful introduces the Fiandre 2 Jacket as an evolution of the legendary Fiandre series. The jacket utilises the Polartec AirCore membrane developed exclusively for Sportful, which represents a new generation of winter clothing for cyclists. This innovative technology combines maximum breathability with reliable wind protection thanks to an air-permeable nano-fibre construction.
The Polartec AirCore membrane achieves an air permeability of 0.4 - 1 CFM (cubic feet per minute), which ensures optimum moisture transport from the inside to the outside. The nano-fibre structure keeps moisture away from the outside, while at the same time allowing perspiration to escape more quickly in the form of water vapour. This dual function prevents overheating during intensive rides and protects against cooling down at low temperatures or in windy conditions.
PFAS-free construction and sustainability
The Fiandre 2 Jacket does not contain any PFAS (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) and therefore fulfils modern environmental standards. This decision demonstrates Sportful's commitment to sustainable product development without compromising on performance. The PFAS-free membrane still offers full weather and wind protection for demanding winter rides.
The material composition focusses on durability and recyclability. The jacket utilises a stretch construction that allows full freedom of movement when riding. The regular fit was specially developed for the layering principle so that riders can wear additional layers underneath depending on the weather and intensity without restricting mobility.
Practical equipment and functionality
The Fiandre 2 Jacket has pockets with Object Retention Technology, which keeps items safe, even during intensive riding manoeuvres or longer rides. This technology prevents smartphones, keys or energy bars from falling out thanks to special pocket openings and fasteners.
The jacket is suitable for temperatures ranging from 0°C to 15°C, depending on how cold you feel. In milder conditions, it can be worn as an outer layer over a base layer, while in colder temperatures it offers space for additional layers of insulation. The sleeve and torso length has been optimised for the aerodynamic riding position without appearing too short when standing upright.
Colour variants and availability
The men's version of the Fiandre 2 Jacket is available in four colours: Black, Teal Blue, Bright Orange and Gold Leaf. The women's version (Fiandre 2 W Jacket) is available in three colours: Black, Pompelmo and Teal Blue. All versions cost a standard 249.90 euros and are available from the Sportful online shop and authorised dealers.
The Bright Orange and Gold Leaf versions offer increased visibility in low light conditions, while the classic Black and Teal Blue colours can be combined in a variety of ways. The Pompelmo colour of the women's version is a modern alternative to traditional winter colours and underlines the technical innovation of the jacket.
