Helmet manufacturer MET advertises its new entry-level model "Strale" with particularly good ventilation properties - which is surprising at first glance.

This is because just five relatively small air openings break through the front of the helmet. However, the Italians utilise a physical operating principle called the "Venturi effect": The air flowing in at the front is channelled in such a way that a negative pressure is created at the back of the head, which is intended to channel the warm air away from the head more quickly. This worked well in practice, and despite the relatively closed shell, there was no heat build-up. Otherwise, the helmet, which is available in six colours, is very well made and can be easily adjusted with the height-adjustable head strap using the twist lock. At the back, however, the straps have little guidance and easily get tangled in the neck padding. The weight of 270 grams for size L is acceptable and the helmet looks wider than average.

PLUS Very well made, good price-performance ratio
MINUS no strap guide on the neck pad

Price 90 Euro
Size 52-58, 59-62
Variants 6 colours
