On the tarmac and in the crash test, it becomes clear which helmets offer the greatest safety reserves. Seven manufacturers, from Abus to Uvex, each sent an inexpensive and a top model at prices between 100 and 300 euros into the test race. One realisation up front: all the helmets are much better than the standard requires - but some offer a small safety advantage, regardless of price. Here: the MET Manta Tadej Pogačar and the MET Estro Mips.

The cheapest helmet with Mips in the test beats its more expensive brand brother because it can protect a little better against concussion, cools a little better thanks to its open design and the dial for width adjustment is easier to grip.
