Individual test: Ares helmet from Casco
With a record-breaking 30 air openings, the "Ares" from German manufacturer Casco counters the concern that it could get too hot under its protective shell.

With a record-breaking 30 air vents, the "Ares" from German manufacturer Casco counters any worries that it might get too hot under its protective shell. The attractively designed, compact helmet is available in two sizes. The retention system and side twist fasteners are easy to operate and make a well-engineered impression. At 334 grams in size L, the Ares is relatively heavy, but this is compensated for by the high level of comfort. We never had the feeling that the helmet was too heavy.

PLUS: good fit and ventilation

MINUSrelatively heavy
