They come in all sizes and weights - bike locks. TOUR put the Sportflex 2504 cable lock from Abus through its paces.

Abus combination lock in the TOUR test

The new Abus Sportflex 2504 combination lock is an option for anyone who wants to put their road bike on the chain for a short time while travelling. It is compact - around ten centimetres high and wide and two centimetres thick - and can be fixed reasonably discreetly under the bottle cage with the enclosed screws.

The plastic-coated steel cable is 90 centimetres long and can be used to secure up to three bikes to the lamppost by leaning them against each other in a staggered arrangement. Of course, the thin wire rope won't stop professional thieves, but it will prevent spontaneous bike theft.
