Trek’s 2022 “Dual Sport 2 Equipped Gen 4” model is a versatile bike designed for a range of uses. Priced at 824 EUR, it offers robust and well-thought-out features. The frame is made from Alpha Gold aluminium and features a curved top tube, internal cable routing and mounting points for a luggage rack and mudguards. The frame is also DuoTrap S-compatible and features a post-mount disc brake mount and a kickstand mount. The maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 15 kg.

The Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable braking performance at both the front and rear. The drivetrain features the Shimano Altus M2010, which offers a 9-speed gearing system. The front derailleur is a Shimano Acera T3000 with a clamp diameter of 34.9 mm, Top Swing and Dual Pull. The fork is an SR Suntour NEX with a steel spring, adjustable spring preload and hydraulic lockout. It offers 63 mm of travel and is fitted with a 100 x 5 mm quick-release axle.

The tyres are Bontrager H2 Comp Reflective in size 700 x 40, fitted to Bontrager Connection aluminium rims with a hollow-chamber profile and a 32-hole design. The wheelset includes a hub dynamo on the front wheel and a Formula rear hub. The saddle is a Bontrager Sport, whilst the seatpost is made of aluminium, has a diameter of 27.2 mm, a length of 330 mm and a 12 mm offset.

The bike is also fitted with SKS plastic mudguards, an aluminium side stand mounted on the rear triangle and a MIK-compatible aluminium rear rack. The packaging dimensions are 24 mm wide, 84 mm high and 148 mm long. Further geometric data include a reach of 41 mm, a stack of 60 mm, a seat tube length of 38 mm, a top tube length of 58 mm, and head tube and seat tube angles of 70 and 74 degrees respectively. The head tube length is 12 mm, the chainstay length 46 mm, the standover height 67 mm and the wheelbase measures 110 mm.
