Trek Domane AL 5 Disc

The 2023 "Domane AL 5 Disc" model from Trek is a high-quality road bike, available for €2,299. The frame is made from 100 Series Alpha Aluminium and features a tapered head tube, internal cable routing, mudguard mounts and a flat-mount disc brake mount. The frame is also DuoTrap S-compatible and has a 142 x 12 mm thru-axle. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 125 kg, with a kerb weight of 10 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes, both front and rear, fitted with Shimano RT70 Centre Lock brake discs with a diameter of 160 mm. The gear system is controlled by Shimano 105 R7020 shift levers, which allow for an 11-speed drivetrain. The front derailleur is also a Shimano 105 R7000 with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm.

The fork on the Domane AL 5 Disc is a Domane AL carbon fork with a tapered aluminium steerer tube, internal brake routing and mudguard eyelets. It is designed for flat-mount disc brakes and features a 12x100 mm thru-axle. The crankset consists of a Shimano 105 R7000 with a compact chainring (50/34) and a crank arm length of 172.5 mm. The bottom bracket is a threaded, external-bearing Prowheel PW-BB73+.

The cassette is a Shimano 105 HG700-11 with a range of 11–34 teeth and is also an 11-speed cassette. Power is transmitted via a Shimano HG601 chain. The handlebars are Bontrager Elite IsoZone VR-CF made of aluminium with internal Di2 cable routing, a reach of 93 mm, a drop of 123 mm and a width of 42 cm. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr-compatible, an angle of 7 degrees and a length of 100 mm.

The headset consists of an integrated FSA headset with sealed cartridge bearings (1 1/8" top, 1.5" bottom). The wheelset comprises Bontrager aluminium rims with sealed bearings and Centre Lock disc mounts. The front hub has a 100 x 12 mm thru-axle, whilst the rear hub has a 142 x 12 mm thru-axle and a Shimano 11-speed freehub.

The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Comp with steel rails and a width of 145 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Comp made from 6061 aluminium, with a diameter of 27.2 mm, an offset of 8 mm and a length of 330 mm.

The packaging dimensions are 24 mm wide, 77 mm high and 133 mm long.
