This is not only due to the very upright position that the rider adopts on the bike. The Iso-Speed linkage also allows the seat tube to flex noticeably. Slight weaknesses in the steering head stiffness are largely compensated for by a laterally stiff fork with thru-axle; at least medium-weight riders will not notice any unsteadiness in the suspension even at high speeds. The speedometer sensor integrated into the chainstay and hidden mudguard eyelets are evidence of the attention to detail in the frame design. However, this comes at a price: measured against the equipment, which is good but not above average in this test field, the Trek is comparatively expensive.
CONCLUSION Very comfortable frame set, elaborate details, many frame sizes, good equipment, but expensive
