Trek Domane AL 3 Disc

The 2022 "Domane AL 3 Disc" model from Trek is a versatile and high-performance road bike, available for 1,149 EUR. The frame is made from 100 Series Alpha Aluminium and features a tapered head tube, internal cable routing and mudguard mounts. It is also DuoTrap S-compatible and features a flat-mount disc brake mount and a 142 x 12 mm thru-axle. The maximum load capacity is 125 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 10 kg.

The Domane AL 3 Disc’s braking system consists of Max. disc brakes at both the front and rear. The gear system is fitted with a Shimano Sora R3000 9-speed groupset, including shift levers and a cassette (Shimano Sora HG400, 11–32 t, 9-speed). The crankset is also from Shimano Sora R3000, with a gear ratio of 50/34 (compact) and a crank arm length of 175 mm. The bottom bracket is a Prowheel PW-BB73+ with a 68/73 mm thread and is external.

The handlebars are Bontrager Comp VR-C aluminium bars with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a reach of 100 mm, a drop of 124 mm and a width of 42 cm. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr-compatible, an angle of 7 degrees and a length of 100 mm. The headset is an integrated FSA headset with sealed cartridge bearings (1 1/8" top, 1.5" bottom).

The tyres are Bontrager R1 Hard-Case Lite with a wire bead, a TPI of 60 and dimensions of 700 x 32C. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Paradigm Tubeless Ready rims with 24 holes and an internal width of 21 mm, fitted with Formula RX-512 aluminium hubs at the front (100 x 12 mm thru-axle) and Formula RX-142 aluminium hubs at the rear (142 x 12 mm thru-axle, 11-speed freehub hub by Shimano).

The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Comp with steel rails and a width of 145 mm, mounted on a Bontrager Comp seatpost made from 6061 aluminium with a diameter of 27.2 mm, an 8 mm offset and a length of 330 mm.

The packaging dimensions are 24 mm wide, 73 mm high and 133 mm long. Further geometric data include a reach of 38 mm, a stack of 59 mm, a seat tube length of 52 mm and a top tube length of 55 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle 73 degrees. The head tube length is 18 mm, the chainstay length is 42 mm, the standover height is 78 mm and the wheelbase is 102 mm.
