Scott Speedster 40

The 2024 "Speedster 40" from Scott is a versatile and high-performance bike that stands out for its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made from Speedster Disc / 6061 D.Butted Alloy and features endurance geometry and internal cable routing. The frame is also compatible with the Syncros mudguard kit. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst it weighs 11 kg.

The model is designed for riders between 195 cm and 205 cm tall. The brakes consist of Tektro MD-C511 mechanical disc brakes, both front and rear, with 160 mm Tektro TR-160-35 brake discs. The gear system utilises Shimano Claris components, including the RD-R2000-GS rear derailleur and the FD-R2000 front derailleur, providing a total of 16 gears. The shift levers are Shimano Claris ST-R2000 Dual Control.

The fork is made from Speedster Alloy Disc material with an eccentric alloy steerer tube ranging from 1 1/4" to 1 1/2". The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-UN300, whilst the crankset is a Shimano Claris FC-RS2000 with 50x34 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG50 with 8 speeds and a range of 11–32 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC X8 chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Creston 2.0 Compact with a diameter of 31.8 mm, and the stem is a Syncros RR2.5 with a length of 113 mm and also a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is an Acros AIF-1113.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros Race 24 rims, each with 28 spokes at the front and rear. The tyres are Schwalbe Lugano in size 700x32C. The hubs are Formula Team II CL Disc 28 H, both front and rear.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino Regular 2.5, and the seatpost is a Syncros RR2.5 measuring 27.2/350 mm. The packaging dimensions are 26 mm wide, 87 mm high and 170 mm long, with a gross weight of 18100 g.

Further geometric data include a reach of 406 mm, a stack of 633 mm, a seat tube length of 610 mm and a top tube length of 596 mm. The head tube angle is 73 degrees, as is the seat tube angle. The head tube length is 203 mm, the chainstay length is 427 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 70 mm and the fork offset is 45 mm. The top tube height is 864 mm, the fork installation height is 395 mm and the wheelbase measures 1043 mm in total, with a bottom bracket height of 275 mm.
