Scott Spark 940

The Scott “Spark 940” model from 2024 is a high-quality mountain bike designed for demanding riders. Priced at 3999 EUR, it offers an impressive combination of advanced technology and top-class specifications. The frame consists of a Spark Carbon HMF main frame with a 6011 aluminium swingarm, which incorporates the integrated suspension technology and the Flex Pivot system. The frame’s geometry can be adjusted via the adjustable head angle, and the Syncros cable integration system ensures a clean look. The maximum rider weight is 128 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs in at 13 kg.

The Spark 940 is suitable for riders between 160 cm and 170 cm in height. The brakes are from Shimano and consist of MT501 disc brakes at the front and rear, combined with Shimano SM-RT54 CL brake discs with a diameter of 180 mm. The drivetrain is a SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed system, operated by a SRAM SX Eagle trigger shifter.

Suspension is provided by a RockShox Pike RL3 Air fork with 130 mm of travel and a RockShox Deluxe Select RL3 Trunnion rear shock with 120 mm of travel. Both components offer various modes to adapt to different riding conditions. The bottom bracket is a SRAM DUB PF 92 MTB Wide, whilst the crankset is a SRAM X1 Eagle DUB with a 32T chainring. The cassette is a SRAM SX-PG1210 with a range of 11–50 teeth.

The handlebars are Syncros Fraser 2.0 DC made from 6061 aluminium, with a width of 760 mm and a backsweep of 8 degrees. The grips are Syncros Performance XC lock-on grips. The stem is also by Syncros and features the Cable Integration System, with a length of 50 mm.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros X-30SE rims, which are tubeless-ready, and black stainless steel spokes. The tyres are Schwalbe Wicked Will 29x2.4" EVO, which are suitable for various types of terrain. The hubs are from Formula: the CL-811 at the front and the CL-148S at the rear.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino 2.5 Regular, mounted on a Syncros Duncan Dropper Post 2.5 seatpost, which offers a drop of up to 170 mm depending on frame size. Mudguards are also included.

The bike’s geometry is well thought-out, featuring a seat tube length of 415 mm, a top tube length of 561 mm, a head tube angle of 66 degrees and a seat tube angle of 76 degrees. The reach is 410 mm and the stack is 608 mm. Further dimensions include a head tube length of 90 mm, a chainstay length of 438 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 44 mm and a top tube height of 759 mm. The fork installation height is 130 mm and the wheelbase measures 1145 mm, with a bottom bracket height of 332 mm.
