Scott Ransom 600

The "Ransom 600" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality mountain bike designed for challenging off-road riding. It is available at a price of 1999 EUR. The bike’s frame is constructed from Ransom 24"/26" 6061 alloy custom butted tubing and features a tapered head tube, a BB73 bottom bracket and internal cable routing. The UDH mount and the 148x12mm Boost standard provide additional stability and stiffness. The maximum rider weight is 80 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 13 kg.

The Ransom 600’s braking system consists of Shimano BR-MT500 brakes at both the front and rear, operated by Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. The front brake disc is a Shimano Deore SM-RT56 with a diameter of 180 mm, whilst the rear brake disc is also a Shimano Deore SM-RT56, but with a diameter of 160 mm. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Deore RD-M5100 11-speed system, operated via the Shimano Deore SL-M5100-R shifter.

The Ransom 600’s suspension comprises an X-Fusion Slant RC 26 fork with 140 mm of travel and an X-Fusion 02Pro R trunnion shock with 130 mm of travel. Both components are specially designed for children to ensure an optimal riding experience. The bottom bracket and crankset are from Prowheel, with the crankset being a CHARM-32T 2P Boost model with a length of 140 mm. The cassette is a Shimano CS-M5100-11 with a 11–51-tooth range, and the drivetrain uses a KMC X11 chain.

The handlebars are Syncros T-Bar made from 6061 alloy, with a width of 640 mm and a 9° bend. The grips are Syncros Youth 115 models. The stem is also made from Syncros 6061 alloy and has an angle of 7°. The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit model with a 1.5"-1 1/8" reduction and dimensions of OD 50/62 mm and ID 44/56 mm.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros DP30 rims with a diameter of 30 mm and are fitted with black stainless steel spokes (15G / 1.8 mm). The tyres are Kenda Hellkat K1201 models, sized 26x2.4 and featuring a folding construction. The hubs are from Formula, with the front hub being the DC-71 IS model (15x100 mm) and the rear hub the DC-3248 IS model (Boost 12x148 mm).

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro model and the seatpost is a Syncros Dropper Ducan Remote with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a travel of 80 mm, also specially designed for children.

The bike is supplied in a box measuring 20 mm wide, 82 mm high and 140 mm long, and has a gross weight of 19080 g. The Ransom 600 is available in one size and offers an excellent combination of stability, control and comfort for young mountain bikers.
