Scott Genius 700

Scott’s “Genius 700” model from 2024 is a versatile mountain bike designed for challenging trails and descents. The frame is made from Genius Alloy 6061 and incorporates advanced suspension technology. The Virtual 4 Link kinematics and adjustable head angle ensure optimum riding dynamics. The Syncros cable integration system and the BB92 bottom bracket shell with UDH interface, along with a 12x148mm axle standard and a 55mm chainline, round off the design.

For the braking system, Scott relies on Shimano components. Shimano BR-MT500 brakes are fitted at both the front and rear, controlled by Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. Braking power is provided by Shimano SM-RT30 CL brake discs, with a diameter of 203mm at the front and 180mm at the rear.

The Genius 700’s drivetrain consists of an SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed groupset, operated by the SRAM NX Eagle Trigger shifter. The fork, an X-Fusion Sweep Boost RC 27.5", offers 150mm of travel, providing sufficient damping for rough terrain. This is complemented by the X-Fusion 02Pro R Trunnion KIDS rear shock, also with 150mm of travel and a setup specifically tailored for children.

The bottom bracket is a SRAM DUB PF 92 MTB Wide, whilst the crankset consists of a SRAM X1 1000 CL55 Eagle DUB with 155mm crank arms and a 30T chainring. The cassette is a SRAM SX Eagle PG-1210 with an 11–50T range.

The handlebars are Syncros Hixon 2.0 made from 6061 D.B. alloy, with a 12mm rise and a 9° back sweep, and a width of 740mm. The grips are Syncros Performance XC lock-on grips. The stem is a LEADTEC model with a length of 40mm and an angle of +/-7°, suitable for a 31.8mm handlebar clamp. The headset is a Syncros Acros Angle Adjust & Cable Routing HS System, which allows for a head angle adjustment of -0.6°.

The rims are Syncros X-30S models with 32 spokes and a width of 30 mm, connected by sleeve joints. The spokes are made of black stainless steel with a thickness of 15G / 1.8mm. The tyres are Maxxis Dissector, sized 27.5x2.4", tubeless-ready and fitted with EXO protection.

The hubs are from Formula: the CL-811 model at the front with a 15x110mm axle standard, and the CL-148S model at the rear with a 12x148mm axle standard. The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro, fitted to a Syncros Dropper Ducan Remote seatpost with a diameter of 31.6mm and a travel of 80mm, specially designed for children and fitted with an I-Spec II remote lever.

The bike’s total gross weight is 19,600 g. The Scott Genius 700 is priced at 3,199 EUR and is aimed at young, ambitious riders looking for a robust and high-performance mountain bike.
