Scott Contessa 24 disc

The "Contessa 24 disc" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a versatile youth bike characterised by its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made from Scale 24 Disc Junior Alloy 6061, ensuring high stability and durability. With a maximum load capacity of 50 kg and a kerb weight of 12 kg, the bike provides a solid foundation for young riders.

The Contessa 24 disc’s braking system comprises mechanical disc brakes from Tektro (model SCM-02) at both the front and rear, combined with Tektro TS325A brake levers and 160 mm brake discs. This configuration ensures reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions.

Gear changes are handled by a Shimano RD-TX800 Tourney 8-speed derailleur, controlled by a Shimano SL-RS45-8R Revo shifter. This drivetrain allows for precise and easy gear selection, ideal for young female riders who are just learning to use different gears.

The bike’s fork is an SR Suntour XCT-JR 24 Disc with 50 mm of travel and a specially tuned, softer spring, which provides extra comfort on uneven terrain. The pedals are MARWI SP-700s with reflectors, which enhance safety on the road.

The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper, whilst the Prowheel crankset features a 140 mm aluminium crank and a 32T chainring. The cassette is a SunRace CSM55 with 8 speeds and a gear ratio of 11–34T, offering a good range for various types of terrain. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z8.3 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Junior flat bars with a width of 560 mm, complemented by Syncros Youth grips for a secure grip. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7130 with a length of 50 mm and a 25.4 mm clamp. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807, semi-integrated.

The rims are Alex C-1000 Disc models, laced with black 15G UCP spokes. The tyres are Kenda K1227 Booster in size 24x2.2" with 30 TPI, fitted to both the front and rear. The hubs are a Formula DC-19-F at the front and a Formula DC-25-7-R at the rear, both with quick-release skewers (QR).

The saddle is a Syncros Youth model, mounted on a 300 mm long aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 26.8 mm. A handy kickstand completes the specification.

The bike is supplied in packaging with the following dimensions: width 21 mm, height 67 mm and length 124 mm. The gross weight is 16080 g. The model is available in ‘one size’ and costs 499 EUR.
