Lapierre XR 8.9

The "XR 8.9" model from Lapierre, released in 2022, is a high-quality mountain bike designed for challenging trails and versatile off-road riding. The bike’s frame is made from a new XRM full-carbon material with 110 mm of travel for 29-inch wheels. It is fitted with a PressFit bottom bracket, Boost standard and a metric thru-axle, ensuring stability and efficiency. The braking system consists of Shimano XT dual-piston brakes, which provide reliable stopping power.

The drivetrain features the Shimano Deore XT RD-M8100 with 12 speeds, supported by Shimano XT shifters, enabling precise and rapid gear changes. Front-end suspension is provided by the Fox 34 SC Factory Series Float fork with FIT4 damping and 120 mm of travel. The rear shock is a FOX FLOAT DPS from the Factory Series with remote control, ensuring effective shock absorption.

The spec includes FPD NW-91K steel-cage pedals, a Shimano BBMT800 Press Fit bottom bracket and a Shimano XT M8120 crankset, which, depending on frame size, is fitted with a crank arm length of 170 mm (S) or 175 mm (M/L/XL). The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a range of 10 to 51 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a Shimano Deore 12-speed chain.

The handlebars are Race Face Turbine, 760 mm wide with a 15 mm rise, whilst the Lapierre grips are specially adapted to accommodate different hand sizes. The stem is made from a Lapierre aluminium alloy with a 7° angle and a length of 60 mm (S/M) or 70 mm (L/XL).

Maxxis tyres provide contact with the ground: the Rekon Race EXO TR 29x2.35 at the rear and the Ardent Race 3C Maxxspeed EXO TR 29x2.35 at the front. The wheelset consists of DT Swiss XM 1700 Spline wheels in the Boost standard. The saddle is a black Fizik Taiga, combined with a JD Dropper seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a travel of 125 mm for all frame sizes.
