Lapierre XR 6.9

The 2022 Lapierre XR 6.9 is a high-quality mountain bike which, at a price of 4099 EUR, is positioned in the upper mid-range. It features a New XRM full-carbon frame with 110 mm of suspension travel, built around 29-inch wheels. The frame is fitted with a PressFit bottom bracket and features a Boost axle as well as a metric shock mount, which ensures increased stiffness and stability.

The XR 6.9’s braking system consists of SRAM LEVEL T brakes with two pistons, which deliver reliable braking performance. The drivetrain utilises the SRAM GX Lunar Eagle 12-speed system, which, in combination with the SRAM GX Lunar Eagle shift lever, enables precise and smooth gear changes. The Rock Shox SID SELECT CHARGER RL REMOTE fork, with 120 mm of travel and 44 mm of trail, ensures excellent damping and control on challenging trails. This is complemented by the Rock Shox SID LUXE Select+ shock, which can also be operated remotely.

The bike is fitted with FPD NW-91K pedals with a steel cage, a SRAM DUB Pressfit MTB 92 bottom bracket and a SRAM GX Lunar Eagle BOOST crankset. The crankset features a 32-tooth chainring configuration and is available in different lengths depending on frame size. The drivetrain is complemented by an SRAM PG1230 Eagle cassette with a range of 11–50 teeth.

The handlebars are made from a Lapierre aluminium alloy, with a width of 760 mm and a rise of 15 mm. The grips are also by Lapierre and are available in two sizes to ensure optimum comfort. The stem has a 7° angle and varies in length depending on the frame size. The headset is an integrated FSA system, which ensures a clean look.

The Mavic XC 425 rims are robust and fitted with Maxxis tyres: an Ardent Race EXO at the front and a Rekon Race EXO at the rear, both in size 29x2.35. The hubs are from Lapierre by Fastace and feature Boost standards for improved stiffness.

The model is rounded off by the Fizik Taiga saddle and a Lapierre dropper seatpost with 100 mm of travel, which is available across all frame sizes. The Lapierre XR 6.9 is therefore a well-designed and high-performance mountain bike that performs impressively on both technical trails and longer rides.
