Lapierre Edge 3.9

The 2022 Lapierre Edge 3.9 is a versatile mountain bike available at an attractive price of 699 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from Edge 29" Supreme 5 aluminium and features internal cable routing, ensuring a clean, tidy look. The Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes guarantee reliable stopping power in a variety of conditions.

For gear shifting, the Edge 3.9 is fitted with a Shimano Acera RD-M360, which offers eight speeds. The shifter is a Shimano Altus STEF505, also designed for eight speeds, whilst the front derailleur is a Shimano Tourney FD-TY300. The front fork is an RST BLAZE -TNL (HLO)-DSS with 100 mm of travel, ensuring a comfortable ride over uneven terrain.

The model is fitted with Xerama SP-400 pedals, and the bottom bracket measures 124.5 mm in length. The crankset consists of a Shimano TY301 with chainring sizes of 42-34-24T, with the crank length varying between 170 mm (XS/S) and 175 mm (M/L/XL). The cassette is a Sunrace CSM400 with a 12–32T range for eight speeds.

The drivetrain is configured as an S52 8s. Steering is provided by an XLC handlebar made from a 6061 aluminium alloy, with a width of 720 mm and a diameter of 31.8 mm. The grips are Velo Double Density, 130 mm in length. The stem is also made from XLC aluminium, with a 6° angle and a length of 60 mm.

The headset is an FSA NO.10, semi-integrated, whilst the rims are Lapierre Disc with 32 spokes and a size of 29" (21-622). The tyres are Mitas Ocelot, size 29x2.1. The hubs are Shimano HBTX505, for both the front and rear wheels, each with 32 spokes and Centre Lock quick-release mechanisms.

The saddle is from XLC by DDK, and the seatpost is also made from XLC aluminium, with a diameter of 30.9 mm and a length of 400 mm. Overall, the Lapierre Edge 3.9 offers a solid spec for beginners and intermediate mountain bikers, standing out for its reliability and good value for money.
