KTM SCARP 294

The "SCARP 294" model from KTM, released in 2023, is a versatile mountain bike characterised by its robust construction and high-quality components. The bike’s frame is made from Scarp 29" Alloy 6061, which is triple-butted and designed for 90 mm of travel. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs in at 14 kg.

For the brakes, KTM relies on the tried-and-tested Shimano MT201 / MT200 2-piston system, which ensures reliable braking performance. Gear changes are handled by the SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed system, operated via the SRAM SX Eagle Trigger. The SCARP 294’s fork is a RockShox Recon Silver RL 29" with 100 mm of travel, a remote control and a tapered 15x110 thru-axle system. The rear shock is a RockShox Monarch RL measuring 165x38 mm.

The bike is supplied without pedals, giving the buyer the option to choose according to their own preferences. The bottom bracket is an SRAM DUB press-fit MTB 89, and the crankset consists of an SRAM SX Eagle DUB with a 34-tooth chainring. The cassette is a SRAM SX Eagle PG-1210 with a range of 11–50 teeth.

The handlebars are KTM COMP II flat, 720 mm wide, fitted with KTM Comp Lock grips. The stem is the KTM Team MTB with a 7° angle. The headset is also from KTM and is designated Team drop/in 1.1/8"-1.5".

The rims are identical at the front and rear: These are KTM Line rims combined with Shimano hubs (MT410B CL at the front and MT400B CL at the rear) and Ryde Rival26 rims (622x26C), laced with DT Champion 2.0 black spokes. The tyres are Schwalbe Rapid Rob K-Guard in size 57-622, fitted to both the front and rear.

The SCARP 294 is fitted with a KTM Line Sport saddle, mounted on a KTM COMP II seatpost measuring 30.9/400 mm. The saddle is clamped in place using a KTM Line JD-SC99 clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm.

The price of the KTM SCARP 294 is 2499 EUR, which represents excellent value for money given the high-quality components and well-thought-out specification.
