KTM MACINA RACE 291

The "MACINA RACE 291" model from KTM, released in 2021, is a high-quality e-mountain bike priced at 3099 EUR. The frame is made from Macina MTB 29" Alloy 6061 and is fitted with a Bosch Gen.4 motor, which delivers 85 Nm of torque and enables speeds of up to 25 km/h. The integrated Bosch PowerTube battery, with a capacity of 500 Wh, ensures long-lasting assistance on extended rides. The Bosch PURION LCD display provides a clear overview of all key riding data.

Optimal control and safety are ensured by the Shimano MT401 / MT420 brakes with a 4-piston system, as well as the Shimano RT30 CL brake discs with a diameter of 180 mm at the front and rear. The gear system consists of a Shimano Deore M5120-11/10 SGS Shadow+ with a Shimano Deore M4100-10 display shifter, enabling precise and reliable gear selection. The cassette is a Shimano Deore M4100-10 with a range of 11–46 teeth, and the drivetrain is supported by a KMC e10 EPT e-bike chain.

The Suntour XCR 34 Air suspension fork, with 100 mm of travel and a 15x110 mm taper, ensures a comfortable and controlled ride over uneven terrain. The bike is fitted with VP-195E aluminium MTB pedals, which provide a secure grip. The KTM COMP ISIS crankset, with a length of 170 mm and a Q-factor of 16 mm, contributes to the efficiency of the drivetrain.

The handlebars are KTM Comp Flat 2X, 720 mm wide, complemented by KTM Comp Lock grips and a KTM Comp stem with a 7° angle. The headset is a KTM Team Drop/In 1.1/8"-1.5". The tyres are Schwalbe Johnny Watts Performance DD RaceGuard, size 60-622, which provide good grip and puncture protection.

The front wheelset consists of a combination of a KTM Line – Shimano MT400B CL 32H 110-15TA hub and a Ryde Rival30 rim (622x30C), along with DT Champion 2.0 black spokes. At the rear, a KTM Line – Shimano MT400B CL 32H 148-12TA hub is used, also with a Ryde Rival30 rim (622x30C) and DT Alpine II 2.34 black spokes.

Comfort is ensured by the KTM Line Sport saddle, mounted on a KTM Comp seatpost measuring 30.9/400 mm. Overall, the KTM MACINA RACE 291 offers a well-thought-out specification that is suitable for both sporty rides and longer tours.
